Our promise
SLS — Supported Living

Your home,
your way.

Personalized support — up to 24 hours a day — delivered in the home you live in. We help with what you choose: cooking, getting to work, time with friends, the rest of life in between.

  • Daily living support
  • Behavioral & medical coordination
  • Community access
  • Roommate matching
ILS — Independent Living

Skills for
the long arc.

Coaching that meets people where they are — building real-world skills in real-world settings. We move at your speed, never ours.

  • Money & budgeting
  • Transportation & navigation
  • Self-advocacy
  • Health & medical management
Our approach

We support — we don't steer.

Person-centered isn't a phrase to us — it's the architecture of every plan, every pairing, every shift handoff. The person we serve is the author. We're a steady hand on the page.

Consistency over scale.

We grow slowly so DSPs stay long enough to know the people they support.

Trauma-informed, by default.

Every staff member is trained in trauma-informed care — not as a specialty, but as a baseline.

Family as partner.

We coordinate openly with families and loved ones, never around them.

Boundaries respected.

Sensory needs, communication preferences, and routines are honored without negotiation.

Who we serve

Adults whose stories aren't written in straight lines.

We serve adults (18+) who are clients of a California Regional Center — neurodivergent individuals, including those across the autism spectrum and with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

From families
"We waited a long time for the right vendor. The difference is that they ask my son what he wants, and they listen and help."
David & Anne K. — Parents, Long Beach

"For the first time, my brother has a morning routine. He cares to participate more."

Marisol R., Pasadena

"After years of replacement after replacement with other vendors, the same DSP has been with my daughter for three years. This is really, really good for her."

Linda T., West LA

"They taught my son to take the bus. They also taught him it's okay to ask for help."

Ahmad & Sara F., Long Beach

FAQ

Questions, answered honestly.

What's the difference between SLS and ILS?+
Supported Living Services (SLS) help adults live in their own homes with personalized 24/7 support tailored to their needs. Independent Living Services (ILS) teach the skills needed to live more independently — budgeting, cooking, transportation, and self-advocacy. Both are funded through California's Regional Centers.
Who is eligible for services?+
Adults (18+) who are clients of any California Regional Center with a qualifying developmental disability diagnosis. Bism is vendored with the Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center (FDLRC) as our home region, and welcomes inquiries from clients of any LA-area Regional Center — including NLACRC, ELARC, Westside, Harbor, SCLARC, and SGPRC.
How do I get started?+
Reach out to your Regional Center service coordinator and request Bism as a vendor, or contact us directly and we'll walk through the referral process with you.
What does a typical day look like?+
Every day is shaped around the person, not a schedule. Some days are quiet and routine. Others involve community outings, work, classes, or visits with family. Our role is to support — not to direct.
Is there any cost to my family?+
No. Services written into the Individual Program Plan (IPP) are billed directly to the Regional Center. There is no out-of-pocket cost to the family or to the person receiving services.
What languages do you speak?+
Our staff speak English, Spanish, and Vietnamese, and this site is available in all three.
Are your staff trained for neurodivergent adults?+
Yes. All Direct Support Professionals complete onboarding in person-centered planning, positive behavior support, and trauma-informed care, with ongoing training thereafter.

Start with a
conversation.

Tell us a little about who you're caring for. We'll listen, share what fits, and walk you through the referral process step by step.
